VICTORY TO VICTORY CHURCH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

August 1 through August 31, 2017

August 1, 2017

The crown of the wise is their wealth of Wisdom… Proverbs 14:24 (AMP)

It has been said “Learn to sit on an apple box until you can afford a chair.” What this means is that if you’ll use what you have wisely, then God will give you more. Many people today are praying for a miracle or they’re praying for a financial breakthrough. But often, we don’t really need a miracle, we just need to develop better spending and saying habits. This is Wisdom from God.

August 2, 2017

This is what the Lord says - your Redeemer, the Holy one of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”

Isaiah 48:17 (NIV)

God is continually, constantly speaking to us.  The Holy Spirit is leading, guiding, and directing us every moment of the day and night. Avail yourselves of God's leading and His wisdom.  If we will do this, there’s no limit to what God will do in our lives!

August 3, 2017

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10 (NIV)

Learn to trust God.  Some things you may never understand this side of heaven. If you are always trying to figure it out, it will only bring frustration and confusion. Know that as long as you’re doing your best, as long as you’re keeping your heart pure before God, you are exactly where you’re supposed to be. It may not be easy, but in the end, God is going to use whatever happens to your advantage!

August 4, 2017

Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.

Proverbs 16:20 (NIV)

If we pay attention, we can often detect God’s activity in our lives and we can be certain that He is speaking to us, guiding us, directing our steps.  What a comfort it is to know that He is Omnipresent and ever at work in our lives!

August 5, 2017

Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.

Psalm 55:22 (NIV)

It is hard to worry and trust God at the same time.  Choose trust and rest in the Lord!

August 6, 2017

A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

 Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)

If you meet somebody else’s needs, God will meet yours. What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you. If you ever feel discouraged or down, think about going to the hospital and praying for someone else. Giving encouragement and hope brings you joy!

August 7, 2017

But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever. Psalm 52:8 (NIV)

There may be some things about yourself that you wish you could change, but rather than focus on those areas, take what God has given you and make the most of it. Know that you are valuable to God!

August 8, 2017

he who holds his tongue is wise.

Proverbs 10:19 (NIV)

We do not always have to have the last word!  Pay attention to what you are feeling inside and don’t override the Holy Spirit when He is speaking to you!

 August 9, 2017

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)

When we operate in faith, we believe God and His Word regardless of what we see with our natural eyes!  Believe it and be certain you will receive it!

August 10, 2017

As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man. (Proverbs 27:19 NIV)

Listen carefully to the words and tone of voice you use.  Are you complaining all the time?  Mumbling, grumbling? Let your conversation reflect God's Goodness – be someone who blesses and encourages others!

August 11, 2017

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

 (James 1:12 NIV)

Have you ever noticed that it is in the difficult times that we seem to grow stronger? It's at these times that promotion comes. We may not like it; stretching can sometimes be uncomfortable. But if we can keep the right attitude, we know we will come out better than we were before!

August 12, 2017

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

 (1 Corinthians 9:24 NIV)

You are never too old to do something great for God. You can be sure, regardless of your age, God has important plans for you to fulfill. You are not just taking up space, waiting to go to heaven. Make plans to live every day joyfully, vibrantly alive; stay healthy and be productive!

August 13, 2017

The light in the eyes [of him whose heart is joyfully] rejoices the hearts of others, and good news nourishes the bones.

(Proverbs 15:30 AMP)

Enthusiasm is contagious. If you go into your workplace with a smile on your face, full of life, full of joy, full of victory, before long, you’ll rub off on others. And that whole place will come up to a higher level, thanks to you. Be the light!

August 14, 2017

You were brought at a price… (1 Corinthians 6:20 NIV)

You may never have realized how valuable you are.  Perhaps you never realized the price God paid for you.  You need to recognize what you have on the inside.  We were bought with a high price! God gave His best for you, His only Son! Act like it! Glorify God in your body!

August 15, 2017

Here is a trustworthy saying: if anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.

(1 Timothy 3:1 NIV)

Our goal should be that we’re going to live life to the fullest, pursuing our passions and fulfilling God's call on our lives! We are to Reach the Unreached, Tell the Untold and Set the Captives Free!

August 16, 2017

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace… (Ephesians 1:7 NIV)

Through and because of the shed blood of Jesus, we have redemption, we receive salvation, help, healing and deliverance and so much more! It's by God's Grace!!!

August 17, 2017

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Matthew 5:7 (NIV)When you do your part to keep strife out of your relationships, you are honoring God.  And when you honor God, He will honor you. Sow seeds of mercy and kindness and watch your relationships improve!

August 18, 2017

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

(Psalm 127:3 NIV)

Don't get in such a hurry that you miss the miracles all along the way. Take time for your children. Look in their eyes every day and tell them how much you love them, how proud you are of them. Think of the joy and the fulfillment they bring you. That alone should be enough to cause us to get up each day with enthusiasm and purpose!

August 19, 2017

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

(Jeremiah 31:3 NIV)

Some of the things you may be frustrated about right now, ten years from now you will look back and thank God for not answering that prayer the way you wanted or for not opening up that door. You may not be able to see it right now but that’s what faith is all about.

August 20, 2017

I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?

 (Jeremiah 32:27 NIV)

Believe that God has you in the palm of is hand and know that when it comes time for Him to open a door, no man can keep it shut! No obstacle is too high and nothing is too hard for God!!!

August 21, 2017

The Sovereign LORD is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights…

(Habakkuk 3:19 NIV)

Your enemies may be powerful, but our God is All-Powerful!  SUDDENLY, God can turn any situation around. SUDDENLY, God can cause a door to open. He is our Strength, Our Strong Tower. Trust in Him!

August 22, 2017

Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to Your Word.

(Psalm 119:37 NIV)

Set your mind on things above, on the things of God, not on things on the earth or on things that don't matter to the kingdom.  In order to fulfill your calling, pray for and seek the mind of Christ. Keep your eyes upon Jesus!

August 23, 2017

Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.

(1 John 2:10 NIV)

We are the light of the world. Shine as lights in the darkness.  Help others succeed and grow. That's how we stay strong and empowered. Build up, encourage, improve the lives of others and thereby, strengthen yourselves!

August 24, 2017

Everything is permissible for me” – but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me” – but I will not be mastered by anything.

(1 Corinthians 6:12 NIV)

The Apostle Paul was saying, “I might be allowed to pursue many things, but I'm not going to be under the control of any bad habits.  I’m going to rid myself of anything that is not profitable or productive in my life.” Be true to God's Word!

August 25, 2017

For I have known (chosen, acknowledged) him [as My own], so that he may teach and command his children and the sons of his house after him to keep the way of the Lord and to do what is just and righteous, so that the Lord may bring Abraham what He has promised him.

(Genesis 18:19 AMP)

A real man’s masculinity is not diminished because he opens that car door for his wife. Being male doesn’t necessarily make you a man. Treating people with dignity and respect makes you a man.  Taking care of your wife and family makes you a man. Watching over your children makes you a man. Speaking blessings over your wife and children—that’s being a real man!

August 26, 2017

The fear of the LORD leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.

(Proverbs 19:23 NIV)

Even in your times of greatest difficulty, you don’t have to be distraught and let yourself get all worked up. Trust God, reverence God! Remain at rest, remain at peace, keep your joy, keep a smile on your face! All is well!

August 27, 2017

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. (Habakkuk 3:18 NIV)

Happiness is not going to fall on us. It’s a choice we have to make. Being positive doesn’t necessarily come naturally. We have to make that decision daily. Rejoice and again I say, Rejoice!

August 28, 2017

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow? What IS your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

(James 4:14-15)

When somebody leaves your life or a relationship ends — whether it is a business partner, a friend, a neighbor, or a co-worker who parts company – don’t get upset. Don’t try to talk them into staying. Let God do the new thing.  His Will be done!

August 29, 2017

The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.

(Proverbs 20:7 NIV)

The things that we don’t overcome, the issues we don't master, will be passed down for the next generation to deal with. A person’s good habits as well as the poor choices—the addictions, bad attitudes, and wrong mind-sets, are all passed down. Consider what you are leaving to your descendants and ask God to make it good and profitable!

August 30, 2017

Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of his pasture.

(Psalm 100:3 AMP)

It is God who made us, and not we ourselves! Don’t let another critical word come out of your mouth about yourself. Use your words to bless your life. Look in that mirror and call in what you need. Say what God says about you! Blessed and cannot be cursed!

August 31, 2017

We live by faith, not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)

“We walk by faith, not by sight.” If you can see everything happening, you don’t really need any faith. But when you have nothing to stand on in the natural, and you still act like God’s Word is true, you're still positive and hopeful; you are putting actions behind your faith. That gets God’s attention. That’s what causes Him to work supernaturally in your life. Go from believing to expecting and receive the Goodness of the Lord!
