Trust God's plan and His purpose. Sometimes our plans may be interrupted because God has somebody He wants us to touch or something special He wants us to do. Many times we don’t even realize such “behind the scenes” events are happening, but God is using us. Trust that He is at work no matter what it looks like!



February 2


The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

The things of the world may be desirous to us, we may even think that some of them are useful to us, but they do not last.  If we use the things of the world, it must be by God's grace and for His glory. Seek to do God's will – seek eternal rewards.

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you…

If the Spirit of God lives in you, you will be controlled by the Spirit.  You will have the power to overcome the flesh and all of its desires. If the Spirit of God lives in you, you are an overcomer!

Think about how beautiful you look to that person with whom you share the Gospel.  You open up their world – you present God's mercy and His Grace, His Forgiveness.  That is Good News! Take care of your feet and continue to “Go ye.” That’s what life’s all about- doing something good for somebody else.

You have things on the inside of you - gifts and talents – that you have not even dreamed of using. You can go further and accomplish more than you ever imagined. Don’t settle. You can overcome any challenge that’s before you. You can break any addition. You have the power of the Most High God on the inside of you. Start believing in yourself and acting like it’s true.

We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2:12 (NIV)


You must get your thoughts moving in the right direction if you truly want to become a better you. All though the day, you should be thinking good things about you. And when the old, negative recordings come to mind, let them remind you that it is time to put on the new recording. Immediately begin quoting some positive affirmations about yourself and about your God. “I am anointed. I am well able. God has good things in store for me.” Keep the right thoughts playing in your mind.




February 8


And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all the you need, you will abound in every good work.

Remember that God is able! Nothing is too hard for Him!  He's promised to make all grace abound to you.  ALL Grace – overflowing grace!  So that you will always have everything you need and be able to complete every good work He has for you!

When Jesus was baptized, He came up out of the water and a voice boomed out of the heavens, saying, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” Now Jesus was uniquely God’s Son, but we can trust that God is saying that to us, too. He is well pleased with us.  He has already accepted and approved us. He may not be pleased with every decision we make, but if we've entrusted our lives to Him, God is pleased with us. Hallelujah!

As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”

He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed – the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

Scripture tells us that we are to “call the things that are not, as if they already were.” In other words, don’t talk about the way you are; talk about the way you want be. That’s what faith is all about. In the physical realm, you have to see it to believe it, but God says you have to believe it and then you’ll see it.

All the nations may walk in the name of their gods; we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

Don't let others make you doubt or question who your God is or what He can and will do if we live and walk in His Name. Rehearse who He is and what He's done for you in the past. Then it's easy to make this vow “we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.”

Check your daily habits. If you waste four or five minutes each day trying to find things - your keys, cell phone, glasses, notebook, or something else - at the end of a year, you will have wasted almost a week of your life. The Bible tells us to make the most of our time. Living sloppy and unorganized is not being a good steward of the time that God has given to you. Make a change today with God's help!




February 14


A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.

The world does not need to hear another sermon near as much as it needs to see one. Learn to give your time, your money, an encouraging word. Determine to meet a need today. When you show love, you are showing God to the world.

Remind yourself daily, “I’m alive. I’m healthy. I’ve got a great spouse. I have beautiful children. I have so many good things.” Acknowledge the good and perfect gifts God has blessed you with. Put the list on your bathroom mirror, on your desk, or some place where you can see it during the day. Read over it as you go about your normal routine, and it will help you to say excited about the life God has provided!

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Romans 8:16 (NIV)


The Holy Spirit Himself is testifying to us, to the world and the devil that we belong to God.  We are His children – heirs of the promise and joint heirs with Jesus! Hallelujah!

Understand that you are not a surprise to God. God made you, He knows everything about you, and He still approves of you! He is pleased with you. You may have faults, but you are still the apple of God’s eye. Praise Him for His mercy and His grace!

We must choose to bring out the best in the people that God has put in our lives. You are never more like God than when you give, and the closest thing to His heart is helping others. If you will be a people builder, focused on bringing out the best in others, God will bring out the best in you.

Above all you do, guard your heart – keep it from getting hurt.

Ask God to show you if there is anything affecting your heart. Our prayer should be, “God, if I have things affecting me, show me what they are. Help me, Father, to deal with these things and keep my life on the course You have plotted out.”

Learn to give compliments freely. Learn to be friendly and avoid anything that makes it seem as if you are so important that you can’t take time for somebody who’s not up to your level. Instead, make everyone you meet feel important; strive to make every person with whom you have contact feel special. After all, every person you meet is made in the image of God.



February 23


Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

The car you drive has a large windshield, but only a relatively small rear view mirror. The implication is obvious: What happened in your past is not nearly as important as what is in your future. Where you are going is much more important than where you’ve been. Focus on the here and the now and continue to look to the future God has planned for you!

When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions. Blessed are those You choose and bring near to live in Your courts! We are filled with good things of Your house, of Your holy temple.  Psalm 65:3-4 (NIV)


You need to understand that when you come to Christ, when you received His forgiveness, God cleaned out all of your closets. He chooses not to remember your mistakes, your sins, or your failures. We are blessed, we are chosen, filled with good things!




February 25


Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

You may have plenty of money. If so, when you see that single mom who’s really struggling, why don’t you pay her rent for a month or two? Tell her, “Let me pick up the car payment for the next several months. Let me lighten the load just a little.” Jesus said, ”When you do it to the least of one of these, it’s like you’re doing it unto Me.”

Enjoy each day whether your plans work out or whether they don’t. Our plans don't matter. Pray for God's plans for your life to manifest – agree with God!

Replace any negative thoughts you may have with positive faith-filled thoughts. Then every time you’re tempted to worry, use that temptation as a reminder to dwell on good things. The Scripture tells us to “Dwell on things that are pure, things that are wholesome, things that are of a good report.” If you replace thoughts of worry with thoughts of hope, faith, and victory, then you will retrain your mind. Do that day in and day out, and before long, you will have formed a habit of dwelling on good things, and you’ll have broken that old habit of worry.

Becoming a better you is all about growing, learning, and improving. The more you learn to trust God, the better you will be. He will continually expand your horizons, and you can become a better you!

It is so important that we get in a habit of declaring good things over our lives every day. When you get up in the morning, instead of looking at that mirror and saying, “Oh, I can’t believe I look like this, I’m getting so old, so wrinkled,” you need to smile and say, “Good morning, you good-looking thing!” No matter how you feel, look at yourself in that mirror, and say, “I am strong. I am healthy. God is renewing my youth like the eagle’s. And I am excited about this day.”

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.  Psalm 20:4 (NIV)


Don’t live with that treasure God deposited in you undiscovered, and don’t die with the treasure still in you. Give birth to the dreams and desires that God has placed in your heart.

When you make mistakes, when you go through failures and disappointments, don’t sit around in self-pity. Don’t go month after month condemning yourself, rejecting yourself. The first step to victory is to get back up again and go back to your Father’s loving arms.

I am determined to keep my inner dialogue positive about myself. I will reject any negative thoughts toward myself and others, and I will meditate on thoughts such as, “I am valuable. I am well able to do what God has called me to do.”

I am bold enough to believe that I am a friend of Almighty God and that He is smiling down on me right now. I’ve accepted the fact that I don’t perform perfectly all the time, but I know my heart is right. To the best of my ability, I’m doing what pleases Him. That means I don’t have to listen to the accusers. I don’t have to live my life condemned. When I make mistakes, all I have to do is go to God, ask for forgiveness, then receive His mercy and keep pressing forward.

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

Don’t be hardheaded and stubborn. Maybe you have been at odds with somebody for months, not speaking to them, giving them the cold shoulder. Life is too short to live it that way. If possible, go to that person and make things right- while you still have the opportunity.

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)


The Scripture says, “You are the ambassador of Christ.” That means you represent Almighty God. Represent Him well. Even many good, godly people have gotten into a bad habit of slumping their shoulders and lowering their heads. When you do that, subconsciously, you are communicating a lack of confidence, a lack of self-esteem. You need to put your shoulders back, hold your head up high, and communicate strength, determination and confidence. Subconsciously, you’re saying, “I’m proud of who I am. I know I’m made in the image of Almighty God. I know I am the apple of God’s eye.”




March 9


For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4 (NIV)


My father often quoted a simple yet profound stanza from a poem by Edwin Markham

(1852-1940). It sums up the attitude we need:

Great it is to dream the dream,

When you stand in youth by the starry stream.

But a greater thing is to fight life through,

And say at the end, the dream is true.

Don’t settle for mediocrity; never let good enough be good enough. You too will discover that the dream is true!

Do you want to get more out of life? Who doesn’t, right? Okay, try this. Get up every day and rather than trying to be blessed, do everything in your power to be a blessing to someone else. If you will do that for six weeks – trying to be a blessing to someone every day – your life will be filled with so many blessings, you won’t be able to contain them all.

Even if you are living your best life now, it is important that you do not become stagnant. God always wants to increase us, to do more in and through us. He always wants to take us deeper into self-discovery and then wants to raise us to a higher level of living. He didn’t create us to be average. He doesn’t want us to settle for “good enough.” He wants us to keep stretching, to keep pressing forward into the next level.

Other people’s opinions do not determine your potential. What they said or what they think about you does not change what God has placed on the inside. Don’t allow negative words or attitudes to take root and keep you from pressing forward.

Understand your value is not based on how somebody else has treated you or on how perfect of a life you have lived or even how successful you are. Your value is based solely on the fact that you are a child of the Most High God. No, we’re not perfect, we make mistakes; we all have weaknesses. But that doesn’t change our value in God’s eyes. We are still the apple of His eye. We are still His most prized possession.

The Scripture says, “God is effectually at work in those who believe.” Notice, His power is activated only when we believe. God can work in your behalf your whole lifetime and you never really get the full benefit of it because you didn’t believe. Sure, you may get a break here or there, but when you really believe, when you really get up every day expecting good things, you’re going to see more of God’s favor. You’re going to see what He’s been doing behind the scenes.

Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you … Psalm 9:10 (NIV)


You must believe God is at work in your life and then be on the lookout to see His hand shaping the events. It may be that a Scripture jumps out at you one day while you’re reading. Perhaps it will be a small bird in your backyard. Or maybe you will see a rainbow in the sky and know that it is your times to step into a fresh start. God gives us these little glimpses to build our faith, to let us know that He is still in control and working behind the scenes.

Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14 (NIV)


This is one of the most important principles you can ever learn. Follow peace, listen to your conscience; deal with the issues god brings to light. Don’t put it off. The longer you put it off, the more difficult it will be.

Surely god is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2 (NIV)


Start the day by making melody in your heart unto God, singing a song of praise. That’s what I do. In the shower, I sound great! I don’t know what happens when I step out. I like to start my day with a song of praise. Even if you don’t do it out loud, at least do it on the inside.

Ask for me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. Psalm 2:8 (NIV)


One of the greatest threats we face in the twenty-first century is not a terrorist attack or an ecological catastrophe, it’s an attack on our homes. There’s nothing the enemy would love more than to ruin your relationship with your husband or your wife, your parents or your children. Too many homes are being destroyed through strife, lack of commitment, wrong priorities, and bad attitudes. If we’re going to have strong, healthy relationships, we must dig our heels in and fight for our families.

For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.

The Scripture says, “Though the vision tarries, wait earnestly for it.” Notice, we can’t passively; we must wait earnestly and expectantly. What will happen when you do that? The Scripture passage goes on to say, “The vision will not be one second late.” That means when we stay in the forces of darkness cannot keep God from bringing those promises to pass.



March 24


So give Your servant an understanding mind and a hearing to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and bad…. 1 Kings 3:9 (AMP)


If you are in a relationship where you do the majority of the giving and always encourage or rescue the other person, that is a clear sign that something is out of balance. You’ve become a crutch. And unless you make some changes, the relationship will continue to flounder. You must take a stand. You can do it in love, but you need to go to that person and say, ”I love you, but I’m not going to allow you to keep dumping your problems on me and making my life miserable. I’m not going to let you keep draining all my time and energy. You have to take responsibility and learn to keep yourself happy.”



March 25


A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men. Proverbs 18:16 (AMP)


Proverbs 18:16 says that your gift will make room for you. I’m convinced if you’ll get into your destiny, no matter where you are, you won’t have any problem getting hired or getting happy. You won’t have any problem finding work, friends, or opportunity. In fact, if you’ll focus on your strengths and do what you’re gifted to do, you’ll probably have to turn down opportunities.


March 26


Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Psalm 42:11 (NIV)


God is concerned about your countenance. Fifty-three times in the Scripture, He mentions it. When you smile, it’s not only good for yourself. But it’s a good witness to others. They will want that sort of happiness that you have. It’s one thing to talk about our faith, but it’s a far better thing to live it out. One of the best witnesses we could ever have is simply to be happy, to have a smile, and to be pleasant to be around.

Well, Joel, I’m just a housewife. I’m just a businessperson. I’m just a schoolteacher.” No, you are not “just” anything. You are a child of the Most High God. You are fulfilling your purpose. The Lord God orders your steps. Goodness and mercy are following you. You are a person of destiny. Knowing and acknowledging these things can boost your confidence sky high.

Friend, there’s no greater investment in life than in being a people builder. Relationships are more important than our accomplishments.

As long as you are bringing up pain from the past, you are going to have strife in your present.

If you really want to be blessed, do something good for somebody and don’t tell anybody about it. Leave some cash in an unmarked envelope on the desk of that coworker who’s struggling. At the restaurant, buy somebody’s dinner and remain anonymous. Clean up the kitchen at the office and don’t tell anybody that you did it. When you do things in secret, when nobody thanks you and you don’t get any credit, you are sowing a seed for God to do great things in your life.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3:12 (NIV)

God intends for you to be happy, peaceful, contented, and to enjoy your life. God wants us to be examples of what it means to live a life of faith. When people see us, they should see so much joy, peace, and happiness that they will want what we have.
