VICTORY TO VICTORY CHURCH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

November1 through November 30, 2017

November 1

He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.  Proverbs 21:21 (NIV)

If you will keep pressing forward, keep believing, keep seeking, God says He will take your negative experiences, turn them around, and He will use them to your advantage.

November 2

...God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”   Hebrews 13:5(NIV)

What a comforting thought! The God of all Creation is with you – right now! Loving you and working on your behalf! Hallelujah!

November 3

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace….Ephesians 1:7 (NIV)

When we believe in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, we receive redemption, forgiveness, mercy, grace; more benefits than we can list! Thank God for Jesus!

November 4

Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.

 1 Timothy 3:1 (NIV)

Our goals should be that we’re going to live life to the fullest, pursuing our passions and dreams, setting our hearts on being the best Christian we can be. Purpose in your heart to be all God has called you to be!

November 5

Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

Luke 12:7 (NASB)

Recently a reporter asked a woman after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey if she had any power or air-conditioning. The young woman said, “No, I not only don’t have any power, I don’t even have my home.” Then she picked up her Bible and said, “I’ll tell you what I do have, though. I have my hope. I have my joy. I have my peace. I know God is on my side.”

Trust and believe. The Word says His eye is on the sparrow, so know that God is watching over us as well.

November 6

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him.  Psalm 127:3 (NIV)

Remember to encourage your children daily; play with them; pray with them. Remember that they are precious to God and He has given them to you. Treasure them, love them, and raise them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

November 7

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”  Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)

What God said in the past still applies today.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Thank God that His love is never ending and His mercies are new every day.

November 8

I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me? Jeremiah 32:27 (NIV)

Trust God! Believe that no matter what it looks like, God is in control! He will move mountains for you if you ask Him!

November 9

Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.  Genesis 9:16(NIV)

One of the best things you can say to yourself when you are tempted to get discouraged is: “This too shall pass. It is not going to last forever. The clouds will disappear one day, and I will see the goodness of God again in my life.”

November 10

I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.  Jeremiah 24:7 (NIV)

God has already given us a heart that seeks to know Him in a deeper, greater way; a heart that wants be in His perfect will. Yield to it – return to God and receive all He has laid up for you!

November 11

Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life.  Proverbs 16:31 (NIV)

We believe that, no matter how old we may get, we are still going to be just as vibrant as we are right now. One hundred and twenty years, in a strong, healthy, pain-free body, with a sound mind and healthy brain! We put a demand on it by living a life of righteousness and faith!

November 12

[God said]...And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten…. Joel 2:25 (AMP)

God promised it – believe it and receive it! Don't focus on what happened in the past or where you are today; keep reading and believing the Word and see yourself accomplishing your goals and fulfilling your destiny.

November 13

Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools.

Proverbs 16:22 (NIV)

In another passage, the Word states “… with all our getting [we are to] get understanding.” The passage above tells us why. Understanding brings life! Seek God for understanding in every situation and He will bring life to that situation!

November 14

I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve. Jeremiah 17:10 (NIV)

This passage tells us that the Lord searches our hearts and examines our minds to determine what our reward should be. He's also looking at our conduct, our deeds., our actions Maybe we should search ourselves first. Is your heart tender, has your mind been renewed? Are you walking in love?

November 15

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

1 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV)

The Scripture teaches that love makes allowances for people’s weaknesses. Love covers a person’s faults. In other words, you have to overlook some things. Quit demanding perfection out of your spouse, your children or other people with whom you are in a relationship and learn to show a little mercy.

November 16

My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them.

Jeremiah 24:6 (NIV)

Good news! God’s face is and will always be turned toward you, regardless of what you have done or where you have been or how many mistakes you have made. He loves you and is turned in your direction, looking for you.

November 17

For great is Your love, higher than the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Psalm 108:4 (NIV)

We are the ones who limit God. His resources are unlimited. If you will believe Him for more, regardless of your circumstances, He  will provide more – even if it takes a miracle to do so.

November 18

He will also send you rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful. In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows.

Isaiah 30:23 (NIV)

If not everything is happening in your timing or in the way you want, keep doing your best. God is still in control. And as you continue sowing seeds and living with excellence, know this: you are making a difference. In God’s perfect timing, the fruit of your labor will be seen.

November 19

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

Perseverance is key if we want to receive from God. His ways are not our ways and His timing is not always our timing. But we know that all things work together for our good and we know God is always on time!

November 20

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.  Matthew 5:9 (NIV)

If you will swallow your pride and do whatever it takes to keep strife out of your life, you will sow seeds for God’s blessings and promotion. When you do that, you’ll see your relationships flourish. Be one of the blessed!

November 21

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:12 (NIV)

Our God is a forgiving and merciful God. When you make a mistake, you don’t have to hide it. When you do wrong, don’t run away from God; run to God.

November 22

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NIV)

God has programmed you with everything you need for victory. That’s why every day you can say things like, “I have what it takes. I am more than a conqueror. I am intelligent; I am talented. I am successful, I am an overcomer.” God has put all those things in your bloodline.

November 23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  Galatians 5:22, 23 (NIV)

Cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in your life. Train your mind to see the good. Be grateful for what you have and get rid of any negative conditioned responses.

November 24

Therefore I will praise You among the nations, O LORD; I will sing praises to Your name.

Psalm 18:49 (NIV)

Whenever, wherever, whatever is going on, vow to praise the Lord and sing His praises!

November 25

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.  Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

The power of Christ in you is greater than your addictions. But you’ve got to change your attitude. You’ve got to start saying, “I’m free.” Declare it every day. Don’t talk about the way you are, talk about the way you want to be.

November 26

Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Proverbs 17:6 (NIV)

When you live your life with excellence, going the extra mile, it may seem that no one notices. It may seem as though you are not reaping any of the benefits, but know this; being formed in your DNA is fortitude, strength, and an excellent spirit. It will be passed down to future generations. You are making a difference.

November 27

God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.  Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)

You may not have a lot of extra money, but maybe you can make a blanket or bake a cake. You can mentor a young person. You can visit nursing homes. You can get involved in prison outreach and encourage the inmates to trust God. Do something good for somebody else today.

November 28

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.  1 John 4:12 (NIV)

Sometimes God may lead you in an entirely different way, just so you can give somebody a smile, just so you can say hello. Your very countenance can give people hope. God can cause people to look at you and see His love and compassion.

November 29

Be still, and know that I am God… Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Notice the scripture says to be still. You need to be at peace with where you are right now. Things may not be perfect. You may have some areas in which you need to improve. But as long as you are living with worry and stress, you are tying the hands of Almighty God. If you can get to a place of peace, God will show Himself to be God of all that concerns you!

November 30

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 6:14 (NIV)

The key to handling criticism is: never take it personally. Many times, it’s not even about you, even though it may be directed at you. If you are faced with criticism, learn to look the other way.    Know that such criticism is more a reflection of the critic than the person being criticized...just forgive.
