VICTORY TO VICTORY CHURCH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

June 1 through June 30, 2017

June 1

He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him for what he has done. Proverbs 19:17 (NIV)

God has seen all the times you went out of your way to help somebody but they never even said thank you. Don't dwell on this. Your good deeds do not go unnoticed by Almighty God!

June 2

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 (NIV)

Start saying every day, “I am excelling in my career. I have the favor of God. I make good decisions. I’m a hard worker and I’m going to rise to new heights.” Say what God says! Create a new, Godly, image within, an image of victory and success!

June 3

So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. Luke 15:20 (NIV)

You may not be where you should be in life, but don’t sit around in self-pity. Do as that prodigal son did and say, “I’m going back to my father.” In other words, “I’m done with living in guilt, shame, and condemnation. I’m going to get up out of this mess, go back home, and start receiving God’s mercy!”

June 4

The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7 (NIV)

You are a child of the Most High God. God has breathed His life into you. He planted seeds of greatness in you. You have everything you need to fulfill your God-given destiny. God has already put in the talent, the creativity, the discipline, the wisdom, and the determination you need. It’s all in you!

June 5

Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. Philippians 2:4(AMP)

We have a responsibility to reach out to children who don’t have a father figure or a mother figure. Maybe you can mentor a young man or a young woman. If you really want to be blessed, don’t just fight for your family, fight for somebody else’s family, too!

June 6

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Matthew 5:7 (NASB)

If you will be good to other people, if you will forgive others, you will have more of God’s favor than you will ever need!

June 7

Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. Luke 16:10 (NIV)

Financial pressure is almost always listed as one of the top three reasons why modern marriages fall apart. If you want your marriage to last, develop good spending and saving habits. It is never too late to start doing the right thing. If you’ll do your part, God will do His. He will promote you; He will give you increase, but first you must be a good caretaker of what you have!

June 8

I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8 (NIV)

Set the Lord before you each day.  When you get out of bed in the morning, put a smile on your face and give thanks to God. Set the tone right at the start of the day.  Fellowship with Him throughout the day and rest in His Presence!

June 9

in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37 (NIV)

You have the seed of Almighty God on the inside of you. You were never created to be average. You were never created to reach a certain level and then plateau. You were created to excel. There’s no limit to how high you can go in life. There’s no limit to what you can accomplish, if you will just learn to shake off complacency and keep reaching up to the next level!

June 10

This is my command: Love each other. John 15:17 (NIV)

It's a command of God that we love one another.  When we do this, there is no limit to what God will do in our lives!

June 11

Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD. Psalm 31:24 (NIV)

Hope in God encourages us and lifts us up!  Trust in the Lord and believe that all things are possible!

June 12

His work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has survives, he will receive his reward.  1 Corinthians 3:13, 14 (NIV)

God is keeping the records. He sees every act of kindness you perform.  He sees every time you are good to somebody. He hears every encouraging word you speak.  May all our works stand the test of fire!

June 13

but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12 (NIV)

What is destiny?  Your destiny is a part of the dreams and desires that are in your heart; part of your very nature. God made you and He is the One who put those desires within you in the first place.  And He is the One will cause them to be fulfilled!

June 14

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

God tells us through His Word and through the Holy Spirit that He wants to do something great in our lives, that we are going to be healthy and well; that we are going to get out of debt. Receive it -   don't start thinking about what you don’t have, and all the obstacles in our path! Have faith and believe!

June 15

As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man. Proverbs 27:19 (NIV)

Listen carefully to the words and tone of voice you use. Are you complaining all the time or are you blessing, encouraging, and uplifting? Vow to reflect God's love, peace, and joy!

June 16

Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 3:13 (NIV)

If you are called to be a stay-at-home mom and raise your children, do it to the best of your ability. Don’t allow society to pressure you into a career simply because your friends are doing it. Recognize your purpose and do it well!

June 17

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart… Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

God was thinking about you before you were even born!  Praise God!  Thank Him for setting you apart!  Vow to fulfill the good plan and the good purpose He has ordained for you!

June 18

Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? Isaiah 43:18-19 (AMP)

The Bible says that when we confess our sins, God not only forgives us, He chooses not to remember them anymore. If God has let go of our past sins, why don’t we let go of them, too?  Concentrate on what is new about your life in Christ!

June 19

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song. Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

When one door closes, God always opens another. If all the doors close, He’ll open a window. God seeks to give you a fresh, new beginning. He still has a great plan for your life. But do you know when that’s going to happen? It will begin the moment you quit looking back and trust Him with all your heart!

June 20

The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3(NASB)

It's good to lie in bed in the morning and before we get up, on purpose, think good thoughts about ourselves and our relationship with God. “I’m a good parent. I’m a good leader. I have a bright future. God is pleased with me.” Learn to think these thoughts on purpose and believe that God is bringing them to pass!

June 21

The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered. Proverbs 11:25 (NASB)

If you will make somebody else’s day, God will make yours.  You will never be in need by meeting someone else's need!  God will supply!

June 22

A friend loves at all times…. Proverbs 17:17 (NIV)

A true friend will not try to pressure you and make you feel guilty when you don’t do exactly as he/she wants.  They accept you just as you are, and pray for God's perfect will to be done in your life!

June 23

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14 (NIV)

As long as you keep trusting Him, God is going to fight your battles for you. That’s what it says in the book of Exodus, chapter 14: “If you will remain at rest and hold your peace, then the battle is not yours, but the battle is the Lord’s.”  Hallelujah!

June 24, 2017

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

Often people will jump into a relationship or jump into a business deal that they don't really feel good about, but they want it so badly. And the outcome is not as they expected.  Stop rushing things!  Wait on God!  Trust that He is working everything out just for you!

June 25

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1:7 (NIV)

When a person doesn’t want to change, when somebody doesn’t want to be helped, we do him or her a disservice by delivering them out of all their problems.

Yes, we should help the needy, but there comes a point where, if you continue to help somebody who refuses to help himself or herself, you are actually hurting them more than you’re helping them.  Seek God and His Wisdom in all situations!

June 26

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Proverbs 3:6 (AMP)

I believe one of the best prayers that we can ever pray is “God not my will, but Your will be done.” It's good to pray this in some form every day: “God open up the right doors and close the wrong doors.” If you will stay open to His direction and follow your heart, God will lead, guide, direct you and protect you.  One translation says, “He’ll crown your efforts with success!”

June 27

For man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. James 1:20 (NIV)

When you are inconvenienced and things don’t go your way, don’t give in to the temptation to say or do something you might regret. Not only is it going to cause you problems, but it may well prevent God from using you in the way He really wants to!  Take heed!

June 28

You have granted him the desire of his heart and have not withheld the request of his lips…

Psalm 21:2 (NIV)

Understand: God deposited a gift, a treasure inside you, but you have to do your part to get it out. How can you do that? Simple. Determine that you are going to start focusing on your divine destiny and taking steps toward the dreams and desires that God has placed in your heart.  Do it today!

June 29

Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

God is still working on us, even if we can't see it.  We have to trust and believe His Word!  Put your confidence in God! You will never be disappointed!

June 30

Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. Psalm 32:2 (NIV)

God is not looking at our sins – the Word says He has placed them in the sea of forgetfulness.  He’s looking at your heart and the things that you’ve done right.  Thank God for His Mercy!
